Mr. Swift urged the Commiss~ners to attend one of the
Town Meetings in November.

Melissa Larson, a seventh grader at Pleasanton Middle School, asked the Commission what
was planned to be developed on the San Francisco Water District property. Chairman
McGuirk explained that a study concluded retail stores, homes, offiCe space and a golf
course would be beneficial to Pleasanton. However, the City Council didn't approve the
plan, and it is now part of the General Plan Steering Committee Study. Ms. Larson's
science class project is to write a development plan for that property. Among their current
ideas is to put up a massive dance hall for dance contests and dance lessons, a hotel, as well
as hiking and bike trails, and skating areas. The Commission invited Ms. Larson and her
project classmates back to present their finished project. Commissioner Hovingh thought it a
good idea to have an informal meeting so all the class projects could be presented to the
Commission.

L MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW

There were none.

8lh Future Planninl!
