<br />Commissioner Michelotti questioned if Hopyard Rd. had gotten better in recent times. Mr. <br />Swift stated that it is better, though there are areas that still need itrovement (Hopyard at <br />Owens and the Signature Building). Commissioner Finch advised at water is being sprayed <br />toward some buildings in Hacienda and the water is migrating into e foundation and lifting <br />floor coverings. He feels there should be a way to communicate th,t irrigation should be <br />sprayed and drained away from the foundations. I <br />I <br />Chairman McGuirk inquired if the new left turn at Zone 7 on parks~de Drive was for Zone 7 <br />or for exit from the Sports Park. Mr. Swift indicated that Zone 7 ked for the turn lane and <br />staff felt it was important to make exiting from the Sports Park easi r. <br /> <br />Chairman McGuirk noted there is a watering problem at the Sports ark near the Pleasanton <br />Little League Snack Bar. It is very muddy, and there are puddles water all over the <br />soccer fIeld. He believes a sprinkler head may be buried and/or th field is getting too much <br />water. <br /> <br />He also noted that graffIti is beginning to appear on soundwalls aro nd Pleasanton, i.e., <br />Gold Creek condominiums, sound wall of West Las Positas and fr way, and Muirwood <br />Drive. He inquired of staff if anything is being done to look into at inroads gangs may be <br />making into Pleasanton. Mr. Swift stated the police don't think the e is a real problem per <br />se, though some Pleasanton youth groups want to act like a gang. ommissioner Hovingh <br />feels that defacing public property is a gang activity. Chairman Mc uirk doesn't want <br />Pleasanton lulled to sleep thinking they are immune to this activity. Commissioner <br />Michelotti wondered if the graffiti could be due to the close proxi ty of the condominiums <br />to the mall. The consensus was that it might be. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />8... Calendar <br /> <br />Notice was given of a joint City Council/Planning CommissionlGen ral Plan Steering <br />Committee meeting on 9/27/93. Mr. Swift advised the Commission rs not able to attend <br />could forward their comments in writing. <br /> <br />8h. Actions of the Citv Council , <br /> <br />Mr. Swift advised that Councilwoman Scribner asked that the HOPyJd Brew Pub be <br />appealed. r <br /> <br />Commissioner Michelotti questioned AP-93-7/PUD-81-3Q-34D-2M, ouse and Associates <br />action. The eucalyptus trees bordering the arroyos have been a con 'butor to significant <br />parking lot damage. Rouse requested to take out the eucalyptus tr to be replaced with an <br />alternative species. It was processed as a minor modifIcation to the PUD and neighbors were <br />solicited for opposition; but it was appealed by the City Council u review. They <br />approved taking out the eucalyptus trees on the Rouse project, but so asked staff to look at <br />Hacienda Business Park as a whole to see if the City should be taki g all eucalyptus trees out <br />before more damage to streets and parking lots occurred.
