Eric: Nostrand <br />Application for a conditional use permit to establish an approx' ately 3,570 square foot <br />bar/alehouse and grill in the Hopyard Village Shopping Center 1 ted at 3015 Hopyard <br />Road (Suites F, G, and H). Zoning for the property is PUD (P ed Unit <br />Development) - Commercial District. <br /> <br />Mr. Iserson presented the staff report recommending approval of C <br />the conditions of approval in the staff report. <br /> <br /> <br />The Commissioners indicated they had spoken individually with the pplicants by telephone. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED. <br /> <br />Eric Nostrand, 3950 Purdue Way, Livermore, and Barry Mori, 87 arques Ct., Danville, <br />represented the application. Mr. Nostrand indicated that he and Mr. Mori, as well as the <br />supporters of this project, are Pleasanton citizens, and they propose restaurant and pub <br />featuring fresh beer and high quality food with the decor to revolve ound the history of the <br />area, i.e., the hop yards of Pleasanton. No hard liquor, dancing or oud music will be <br />allowed. Mr. Nostrand indicated he and Mr. Mori had worked do ly with the Planning <br />Department and the Police Department to mitigate any problems. e applicants have no <br />conflict with the conditions set forth. <br /> <br />In response to Commissioner Michelotti, the applicants indicated the had gone door to door <br />introducing themselves, explained their project, and left an informati nal packet. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mahern inquired if the applicants would keep the out de patio/dining area if <br />they were not allowed to sell alcohol outside. Mr. Nostrand indica that the patio area <br />would not be opened until next spring, thereby giving them addition time to make a <br />decision. Mr. Mori added they would like to have the patio open fr m the perspective of the <br />view and good exposure for their establishment. <br /> <br />In response to a question by Commissioner Michelotti, Mr. Nostran <br />Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC) requires outside dining area <br />restaurant or a barrier to be constructed where beer/alcohol will be <br />restaurant to the outside dining area. <br /> <br /> <br />advised that the <br />to be adjacent to the <br />sferred from the <br /> <br />Responding to Commissioner Wright, the applicants stated there wo ld be two TV's (20" and <br />27"), but they want to stay away from the sports bar image. Mr. Barberian had two <br />concerns: the lack of parking and location of bar/ grill between two usinesses catering to <br />children and young adults.
