Commissioner McGuirk asked if he should step down during the discussion of the application for Bay Area Cellular Telephone Company, as th applicant is a competitor of his employer, Pac Bell. Assistant City Attorn y Dennis Beougher advised that he will contact Commissioner McGuirk with a r sponse. 2. Commissioner McGuirk asked that staff look into the excess ve watering of the median on W. Las Positas in Hacienda Business Park. 3. Commissioner McGuirk commended his colleagues on the sition they took regarding the Design Review Board at the January 27 meeti g. 4. Commissioner Michelotti indicated that in the evening, duri g non-peak hours, she has had to wait a long period of time for the light to turn gr n to allow a left turn from Hopyard onto Morse Drive, while there is no south b nd traffic on Hopyard. She asked that staff check with Don Owen to see if this has been corrected. 5. Commissioner Michelotti reported that she attended a Cham er of Commerce meeting regarding Downtown on Wednesday morning and that cone rn was expressed regarding the opportunity to provide additional input regard' g the design aspects of the plan. She asked if others, such as the Design Review ard would be able to comment on the plan. Mr. Swift clarified that a staff repa is being prepared for the workshop on February 23 which will contain information r arding materials and cost. He also advised that Council usually makes any item n the agenda open for public comment. Mr. Swift stated that after the contract is et there will be a couple of months when the design aspects could be changed. If C uncil wanted the Design Review Board or Planning Commission to review materials this could be done without slowing down the process. Commissioner Michelotti asked if it is correct that anyone with concerns could provide input at the workshop on the rd. Mr. Swift confirmed that this is correct, and that this item could also be addres at the regular Council meeting on February 16 under "Items not on the Agenda." Mr. Swift stated that copies of the staff report would be sent to the Planning Co mission. The Commission agreed to continue discussion of this item foll wing the public hearings. 6. Commissioner Wright asked staff to check on a building I ated at Hopyard and Inglewood where the signage has been removed, but the li hts are still being used giving the effect of headlights on the wrong side of the str t.
