<br />~ <br /> <br />In response to Commissioner Mahern's question, Mr. Bartelson sta that Village 1 will be <br />the first construction area. By the time Village 1 is complete, the i frastructure would also <br />be ready for the school to begin their construction. He noted that he school district is <br />working very hard so that the Chu project can be finalized, so they in turn, can go ahead <br />with school construction. <br /> <br />Commissioner Finch asked the applicant the width of the streets tha have a sidewalk on one <br />side. Mr. Bartelson said the street is 25 feet curb to curb plus a fo r-foot sidewalk. There <br />is no parking in the street, but there is parking available within the ourtyards. <br /> <br />Commissioner Finch stated that he is concerned that there is insuffi ient parking within the <br />project. He felt that if someone had a party, people would have no place to park. Mr. <br />Bartelson stated there are parking bays that do not show on the plan He also noted there is <br />a major street adjacent to the project where overflow parking can g . <br /> <br />Chairman Hovingh thought that the street on Stone Pointe Way is 5 feet wide, but that the <br />connecting street from the project is only 51 feet. He expressed co cern as to how this <br />would affect traffic. Mr. Bartelson said the street will gradually wi en out to meet the 56 <br />feet. Mr. Swift noted the difference is that there is no sidewalk on ne side of the <br />Hirst/Tong property and two sidewalks on the 56 foot wide street. <br /> <br />Bob Sanchez, 3017 Melbourne Court, expressed concern that Marti Avenue from the north <br />does not have access to this property and the problem that would cr te for the area known <br />as the Meadows, primarily if a school is built. If Martin Avenue c not access this project <br />property, Meadows' residents will have to go down Stoneridge. If artin Avenue does not <br />go through, there will be no good access to the school. He noted th re is not even a plan for <br />a footbridge so that children can walk or ride their bikes to school; i fact, they will have to <br />go all the way around to Santa Rita Road, which is very out-of-the- ay. He urged that <br />Martin A venue either be opened up to be a through-street or at least uild a footbridge over <br />Martin Avenue. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mahern explained to Mr. Sanchez that the project can ot be conditioned at <br />this time to have a footbridge. That was looked at in the PUD stage and the Commission <br />was told that it would cost around $1 million.
