He requested that the Commission receiv a copy of the <br />Ordinance when the process is complete. <br /> <br />Mr. Beougher noted that the various categories have changed somew at, but basically were <br />clarification issues. He agreed that when the process is completed, e Commission will <br />receive copies of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS - PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />UP-92-21. Vallev Communitv Church <br />Application for a conditional use permit to expand an existing urch nse to incorporate <br />a new sanctuary, admini'ltrative offices, and classrooms to the lley Community <br />Church located at 4455 Del Valle Parkway. Zoning for the pro rty is P <br />(Public/Institutional) District. <br /> <br />THE PlffiLIC HRARING WAS OPRNF.D. <br />Tom Nordin, 3936 W. Las Positas Boulevard, facility planning ch 'rman for the church, <br />represented the application. He noted that the first phase of the c urch construction took <br />place in 1981; in 1985/86 office space was completed. At this ti e they are asking approval <br />for the construction of a 15,000 sq. ft. sanctuary building. Mr. rdin stated they have had <br />a good working relationship with the City, and they had notified the neighbors with a <br />letter, stating they were invited to review the sanctuary plans and . any concerns. Since <br />that time, they have met with the neighbors and it appearS all con rns have been met. <br />Mr. Nordin called attention to two of the conditions. In regard Condition 5, he requested <br />they be allowed to extend the 8:00 pm time for outdoor activities 9:00 pm. He felt this <br />would greatly benefit the youth of the church and provide them ith more time for outdoor <br />activity and play while school is out in the summer. Chairman ovingh asked Mr. Nordin <br />whether they are speaking of extending the mid-week outdoor ho rs, as well as Friday, to <br />9:00 pm. He noted that staff basically had co <br />parking and noise issues. He further commented the Design Revie <br />conditions relating to landscape issues. <br /> <br />Commissioner Michelotti asked Mr. Nordin if he would be wi!' g to limit the 9:00 pm <br />hours to just the summer months of June, July, and August.
