Zoning for the property is CoR (p) <br />Peripheral Area). <br /> <br />school at 5700 <br />egional Commercial - <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of Case P-92-28 subject to the <br />conditions of the staff report. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright expressed concern that the cost of condition in the applicant to put in <br />a sidewalk might jeopardize the possibility of the school continuing i its present location. <br />He asked staff whether lack of compliance with that condition would oid the use permit. <br />Mr. Swift stated that the applicant is not in favor of installing the sid walk; he further noted <br />that lack of compliance would make the use permit null and void. <br /> <br />,-. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wright stated that he did not think a sidewalk in that is necessary, and <br />did not think it fair to impose that condition on the applicant at this ti e. <br /> <br />Chairman Hovingh questioned staff as to the relation of the existing rm, trees and a <br />potential sidewalk. He wondered whether the bermed area could pos ibly be used to install a <br />sidewalk. Mr. Swift stated staff would have to re-evaluate that possi ility, as they have to in <br />other areas. He noted staff would not particularly want to destroy th existing berm for the <br />addition of a sidewalk, and would need to discuss this further with s f. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mahern questioned Mr. Swift regarding the need for a sidewalk in that area. <br />Mr. Swift noted people do need to walk in that area and jaywalking i not encouraged or <br />recommended, nor is trampling through the landscape.
