PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEAS TON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. PC-93-43 RESOLUTION APPROVING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EVISING THE GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT IF THE CITY COUNCIL P CES AN INITIATIVE REGARDING THE PLEASANTON RIDGELANDS ON TH BALLOT WHEREAS, at the June 22, 1993, City Council meeting, the City Council referred the draft "Agre ment covering the Ridgelands Area" and accompanying "P easanton Ridgelands Area Plan" to the General Plan Updat steering Committee and the Planning Commission for revi wand comment; and WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of July 14, 1993, and July 28, 1993, the Planning commi sion considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits nd recommendations of the City staff concerning the pr posed General Plan Amendment and draft Land Use Agreeme t; and WHEREAS, the Planning commission recommen ed the following modifications be made to the General Plan Amendment for the Pleasanton Ridgelands should the city Council place the General Plan Amendment on the b llot as a council- sponsored initiative: 1. Policy 1: removed; the word "appeara ce" should not be 2. delete "golf courses" under La d Use Policies and Standards; 3. eliminate the "600 acres" in t e northwest corner of the Study Area; 4. the initiative should provide hat future General Plan amendments be made follow'ng the normal (city Council majority vote) approva process; 5. the boundary of the General lan Amendment area should be amended to be he area of the "Ridgelands" easterly of the " roposed Pleasanton Sphere-of-Influence Boundary" s shown in Exhibit A, with all the area westerly of this line being outside Pleasanton's planning 6. accept the General Plan S eering committee's recommendation for density tra sfer; and 7. amend Section VI (6) [page ] to read: "New development visible from urbanized areas of Pleasanton, . . ." ,~
