this Code. No permit presuming to give authority to violate or can- col the provisions of this Code shall be valid, except insofar as the work or use which it authorizes is lawf.ul. The issuance of a permit upon plans and specifications shall not prevent the Building Inspector from thereafter requiring the correction of errors in said plans and specifications or from pre- venting building operations being carried on thereunder when in vi- olation of this Code or of any other ordinance of the City. Every permit issued by the Building Inspector under the pro- visions of this Code shall expire by limitation and become null and void, if the building or work authorized by such permit is not com- menced within 60 days from the date of such permit, or if the build- ing or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 60 days. Before such work can be recommenced a new permit shall be first obtained so to do, and the fee therefor shall be one-half the amount required for a new permit, provided no changes have been made or will be made in the original plans and specifications for such work; and provided, further, that such suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one year. ..SECT. ION 2: This ordinance shall be published once in "The Pleasanton Times", which newspaper is hereby designated for that pur- pose and shall t~ke effect thirty days from and after its final passage.
