PC-92-99 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF <br />APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO <br />CODB TO CREATB INCENTIVES FOR PROPERTY <br />UPGRADE URREIRFORCED MASONRY BUILDINGS AND <br />FOR DOWNTOWN PROPERTY OWNERS TO ALLOW PUBLI <br />OWNED, OFF-STREET PARKING FACILITIES <br /> <br /> <br />SE RZ-92-4, THE <br />END THB MUNICIPAL <br />S TO RBTAIN AND <br />EATE AN INCENTIVE <br />USE 01' PRIVATELY- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the city of Pleasanton has applied to end the Municipal <br />Code to create incentives for propert owners to retain <br />and upgrade unreinforced masonry buil ings and create an <br />incentive for downtown property owne s to allow public <br />use of privately-owned, off-street p rking facilities; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing 0 December 9, 1992, <br />the Planning Commission considered al public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits and recommendations of the city staff <br />concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorica 1y exempt from the <br />requirements of the California Enviro ental Quality Act. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning commission determined tha the proposed code <br />amendments and policy changes wou d help encourage <br />property owners to retain and re'nforce their URM <br />buildings, thereby meeting the object ves of the state's <br />seismic mitigation program, and wou d also provide an <br />incentive for Downtown property owne s to permit public <br />use of their existing off-street par ing lots. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. Recommends approval of Case RZ-92-4, the application of <br />the city of Pleasanton to amend the Municipal Code to <br />create incentives for property own rs to retain and <br />upgrade unreinforced masonry buildi gs and create an <br />incentive for downtown property owne s to allow public <br />use of privately-owned, off-street par ing facilities as, <br />shown on Exhibit "A" attached heret and made part of <br />this case by reference. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effecti e immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br />
