UIi~CEiCTS OF THIS ORDINANCE. <br /> <br /> T7~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOUN OF ~LEASAI~fON DOES ORDAIN iS ~X)LLO!iVS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. First Jtre~t in the Town of ~-leasanton from <br />the DTortherly i~mi~s of the Town of ~leasanton to its intersection <br />with the Northorly line of Neal Street, and from its intersection <br />with the Southerly line of Neal ~3treet to its ihtersection with the <br />Easterly line of Main Street, is hereby declared to constitute a <br />boulevard for the ~ur~ose of this ordinance. From and after the <br />time when this ordinance goes into effect it shall be unlawful for <br />the o~erator of any vehicle to drive or cause the ss~ae to be driven <br />u~on or across First Street without first cominZ to a full ~to~ at <br />the. ~lace where the intersecting street u~on which said vehicle may <br />be traveling intersects the nearest ~ro~ertL- line of First ]~treet, <br />~roviding the ~ro~erty line is clearly marked or sign~osted, as <br />required in this ordinance. Zrovided further, however, that it shall <br />not be required that a vehicle travelin~ in an Eastorly'or esterly <br />direction u~on Neal Street or in a !,Test~rly dir~ction u~on Vineyard <br />Avenue or in a Northerly direction u~on iTain Street, shall come to <br />a full ate~ when enterin~ or crossing First Street from any of said <br />streets. <br /> <br /> Section 2. From and after the time when this ordinance <br />goes into e'f'fect it shall also be unlawful for the o~erator of any <br />vehicle drivin~ or causin!~ the same to be driven u~on First Street, <br />to enter into or cross the intersection of First Street v~ith i'~bbie <br />Street, or to enter u~on or cross the inte~_~section of First Street <br />with Vineyard Avenue, without first coming to a full ate~ at the <br />~lace where First Street intersects the nearest ~ro~orty line of <br />ibbie Street or of Vineyard .!venue, ~roviding that said ~ro~erty <br />lines are clearly marked or si~]n~osted, as required in this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Section ~. The Chief of !o]'ice is hereby authorized and <br />required to bYa'~e and maintain, or cause to be ~lac.ed and maintained~ <br />along First Street at the intersection of First Street with other <br />streets in the Town of Pleasanton, at feints where vehicles are re- <br />quired to come to a sto~ under the ~rovisions of this ordinance, <br />a~ro~riate si~nns u~on the street, or devices or marks in the road- <br />way, such signs, devices or marks to bear the word "STO~" or the <br />words 'BOULI,}ZtRD ST0~" in such rosition and letters of a size to be <br />clearly legible to -~~rsons a~roaching First Street or the streets <br />intersecting First Street, as the case may be, from a distance of <br />fifty (50) feet along the street in the direction from which vehicles <br />a~roach said sto~ sign. <br /> <br /> Section 4. ?~othini~ contained in this ordinance shall be <br />construed 'aS in any way eliminating, modifying or re~ealing the <br />~rovisions of Ordinance No. 168 constituting Neal Street a boulevard <br />and/or Ordinance DYe. 146 constituting k'ain Stroet a boulevard. <br /> <br /> Section 5. The ~rovisions of this ordinance shall not <br />a-~-ly to any vehicle of the fire or ~olice department when res-ond- <br />in=~ to a call. <br /> <br /> - i - <br /> <br /> <br />
