Large blank <br />facades and high-angle rooflines also shall be prohibited. All building <br />elevations from Foothill Road should receive full architectural treatment, <br />with attention given to minimizing the appearance of massiveness in wall <br />and roof design. <br /> <br />Landscaping New development landscaping shall be predominantly native species in <br />areas visible from Foothill Road, with lawn or turf areas in landscape <br />schemes adjacent to Foothill Road either eliminated or hidden by native <br />landscaping. Drought tolerant ground cover of native species shall be <br />planted and maintained by each lot owner in the 18-foot wide, unimproved <br />Foothill Road right-of-way. Additionally, each lot owner shall include <br />one, 15-gallon-sized "street" tree in the site landscape plan. <br /> <br />Fencing Open fencing is required except that solid, privacy fencing shall be <br />allowed in areas of a lot not within required yard areas, if screened with <br />landscaping. The existing white board fencing shall be retained along side <br />property lines. Homeowners may use wire mesh along open fencing for <br />animal and child control purposes. Fences shall not exceed 2.5 feet in the <br />front yard except as permitted by Municipal Code Section 18.84.080 D. <br />
