Section 8. The ~ssessor n~ay fill out the statement at the time <br /> when he presents it, or he may deliver it to the person and require <br /> him, within a reasonable, specified time, to return it to him, <br /> properly filled out. <br /> <br />Section 9. The Assessor shall have power to require any person <br />found within the Town of Pleasanton to make and subscribe an <br />affidavit, giving his name and place of residence, and he shall <br />further have power to subpoena and examine any person in relation <br />to any statement furnished to him or which discloses property which <br />is assessable in the Town of Pleasanton. ~ny person w~ho shall <br />refuse to furnish the statement hereinbefore required, or to make <br />and subscribe such an affidavit respecting his name and place of <br />residence, or to appear and testify when requested to do so by the <br />~ssessor, as above provided, shall, for each and every refusal, and <br />so often as the same is repeated, forfeit to the Town of Pleasant on <br />the sum of One Hundred ($100) Dollars, in lawful money of the United <br />States, to be recovered in an action brought in its name by the <br />Assessor in the City Court of the Town of Pleasanton, or in the <br />Justice's Court of the Township. All moneys recovered by the <br />Assessor in such actions shall be paid by him to the Treasurer of <br />the Town of Pleasanton and by the Treasurer placed in the General <br />Fund. <br /> <br />Section 10. If any person, after demand therefor by the Assessor, <br />refuses or neglects to give the statement herein provided for, or <br />to comply with the other provisions of this ordinance, the Assessor <br /> <br />shall note such refusal or neglect upon the Assessment Book or List, <br />opposite the name of such person, and must make an estimate of the <br />value of the taxable property of such person. <br /> <br /> -5- <br /> <br /> <br />
