, PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. PC-93-38 RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE DESIGN OF THE STREET FURNITURE FOR MAIN STREET WHEREAS, at the March 31, 1993, City council meeting, the Council directed staff to return through the process with recommendations on street furniture for Main street for final consideration by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Council asked that this review include the recommendations of design professionals; and WHEREAS, a work shop with four former Design Review Board architects and landscape architects was held, during which an array of street furniture alternatives were considered and recommendations were made; and WHEREAS, these recommendations were review by the Pleasanton Downtown Association and the Downtown Committee of the Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of July 14, 1993, the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff concerning this issue; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the staff's recommendation for the design of the street furniture for Main street was appropriate, with the recommendation that the pedestal on the planter and trash receptacle be eliminated. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: Section 1. Recommends approval of staff's recommendation for street furniture for Main street for the design of the concrete bench, the "Campanile" planter and trash receptacle with the elimination of the pedestal, the concrete planter stand, the DU Mor Model 158 iron bench, the bicycle rack, and the elimination of the enclosed telephone booth, using only the telephone enclosure. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
