<br />, <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-93-38 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE DESIGN OF THE STREET <br />FURNITURE FOR MAIN STREET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at the March 31, 1993, City council meeting, the Council <br />directed staff to return through the process with <br />recommendations on street furniture for Main street for <br />final consideration by the Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council asked that this review include the <br />recommendations of design professionals; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a work shop with four former Design Review Board <br />architects and landscape architects was held, during <br />which an array of street furniture alternatives were <br />considered and recommendations were made; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these recommendations were review by the Pleasanton <br />Downtown Association and the Downtown Committee of the <br />Chamber of Commerce; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of July 14, 1993, <br />the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff <br />concerning this issue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the staff's <br />recommendation for the design of the street furniture for <br />Main street was appropriate, with the recommendation that <br />the pedestal on the planter and trash receptacle be <br />eliminated. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. Recommends approval of staff's recommendation for <br />street furniture for Main street for the design of the <br />concrete bench, the "Campanile" planter and trash <br />receptacle with the elimination of the pedestal, the <br />concrete planter stand, the DU Mor Model 158 iron bench, <br />the bicycle rack, and the elimination of the enclosed <br />telephone booth, using only the telephone enclosure. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br />
