<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OP PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALJ:FORNJ:A <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-93-l5 <br /> <br />RESOLUTJ:ON RECOMMENDJ:NG APPROVAL CASB RZ-g3-1, THE APPLICATJ:ON <br />OF THE CITY OP PLEASANTON TO AMEND CHAPTER 18.74 OF THE CITY <br />or PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO ALLOW TEMPORARY, RELAXED SIGN <br />REGULATIONS FOR MAIN STREET BUSINESSES DURING THE MAIN STREET <br />RECONSTRUCTJ:ON PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied to amend the Municipal <br />Code to allow temporary, relaxed sign regulations for <br />Main street businesses during the Main street <br />Reconstruction project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of March 24, 1993, <br />the Planning commission considered all public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits and recommendations of the city staff <br />concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the <br />requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning commission determined that the proposed <br />ordinance would give businesses the opportunity to <br />compensate for their reduced visibility and accessibility <br />as a result of the Main street Reconstruction Project and <br />would help avoid a significant loss of business activity <br />on Main street. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREPORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OP THE CITY OP PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE POLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. Recommends approval of Case RZ-93-1, the application of <br />the City of Pleasanton to amend the Municipal Code to <br />allow temporary, relaxed sign regulations for Main street <br />businesses during the Main street Reconstruction project, <br />as shown on Exhibit itA, It attached hereto and made part of <br />this case by reference. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON THE 24TH DAY OP MARCH 1993 BY THE <br />FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />Commissioners Mahern, McGuirk, Michelotti, Wright, and <br />Chairman Hovingh <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br />
