4F <br />THE CITY OF <br />DL£AS NTON° City Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> April 19, 2005 <br /> Parks and Community Services <br /> <br />SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO SUBMIT FY 2005/06 APPLICATIONS FOR <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY MEASURE B FUNDS AND <br /> TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT (TDA) ARTICLE 4.5 <br /> FUNDS FOR THE PLEASANTON PARATRANSIT SERVICE <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> That the City Council adopt a Resolution authorizing the Director of Parks <br /> and Community Services to submit FY 2005/06 applications for Alameda <br /> County Measure B funds from Alameda County Transportation <br /> Improvement Authority (ACTIA), and Transportation Development Act <br /> (TDA) Article 4.5 funds from Metropolitan Transportation Commission <br /> (MTC). <br /> <br />SUMMARY: The Transportation Development Act (TDA) provides for the disbursement <br /> of transportation funds through the Alameda County Metropolitan <br /> Transportation Commission (MTC) for community transit services. Funding <br /> is allocated from TDA Article 4.5 and Alameda County Measure B <br /> (dedicated sales tax) funds. Eligible agencies are required to file annual <br /> applications for allocation with MTC and the Alameda County <br /> Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA). For FY 2005/06, the <br /> City's projected allocation is $131,760 ($54,455 TDA, $77,305 Measure B). <br /> These funds will be used to offset the proposed FY 2005/06 Paratransit <br /> Service budget of $541,758. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />The City of Pleasanton operates the Pleasanton Paratransit Service, which provides transportation <br />to Pleasanton/Sunol Residents 60 years or older, and to disabled residents of any age.
