Weather protection devices such as measures
to protect pipes from freezing shall require approval by
the Planning Director prior to use; at no time shall
fabric or other material not designed and/or intended for
this purpose be wrapped around or otherwise placed on
these devices. All backflow prevention devices shall be
shown on the plans submitted for issuance of on-site
permits together with screening mechanism and/ or weather
protection devices. The applicant shall install a structural control, such as
an oil/water separator, sand filter, or approved equal
(in the parking lot) (on the site) to intercept and
pretreat storm water prior to reaching the storm drain.
The design, locations, and a schedule for maintaining the
separator shall be submitted to the city Engineer/Di-
rector of Building Inspection for review and approval
prior to issuance of an on-site permit. The structural
control shall be cleaned at least twice a year: once
immediately prior to October 15 and once in January.
