Ordinance No. 108 <br />An emergency ordinance to protect the Health of the Citizens of the town of <br />Pleasanton. and oroviding for means of Preventin thebspread of an epidemic . <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Town Trustees of The town of Pleasanton; <br /> <br /> Section 1.--From and after the date of the 'aaoption and approval <br /> of this ordi~ance, and until such time as the president of this board <br /> of Town Trustees shali by proclamation declare its provisions no longer <br /> necessary, it shall be unlawful for any person to appear on the streets <br /> or in the stores, business or other public places within the limits of <br /> the Town of Pleasanton, unless the mouth and nose of such person is <br /> covered with a gauzen mask, composed of six thickness od gauze; such <br /> mask to be changed at least once in each twenty-four hours, knd not to <br /> be worn again until after it has been sterilized by boiling in ~ter <br /> at least ten minutes. <br /> <br /> Section 2.--During the time that the provisions of this ordinance <br /> shall remain in effect, it shall be unlawful for any barber shop, saloon, <br /> pool room or othsr public or business place to permit persons to gather <br /> or congregate on such premises, unless such Dersons are actually re- <br /> ceiving service or engaged in the transaction of business with the <br /> proprietor of such place, or someone representing him. All chairs , <br /> benc~es-~r seats ef-:~ny kind not used for the transaction of such business <br /> or the receiving of sch service shall be removed from the places described <br /> in this section. <br /> <br /> Section 3.L-No church services, lodge meetings. ldances or entertain- <br /> <br /> er during the time this ordinance shall remain in effect. <br /> <br /> Section 4.--AnyvioRation o~ any portion of this ordinance shall, <br /> upin conviction thereof, be nunishable by a fine of not less than five <br /> nor more than one hundred dolRars, or by imprisonment in the town jail ~or <br /> a perio~ of not less than five days. nor more than one hundred days. or <br /> by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br /> Section ~.--This ordinance is hereby declared an emergency, measure. <br /> the immediate enforcement of whic is essential to the health and protection <br /> of the town of Pleasan~bn, and shal~ take effect immedaately upon its <br /> approval by the President of this Board. <br /> <br /> Adopted th'is 4h day of November, 1918, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes; Trustees Rosa, Letham. Pickard, Letham, Schween, <br /> Noes--Trustees--None. <br /> Absent--Trustees; None. <br /> <br /> Approved,'November 4, 1918 <br /> <br /> <br />
