<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-95-58 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF ESSENAR INVESTMENTS <br />AND SAFEWAY COMPANY, INC. FOR DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL, AS FILED <br />UNDER CASE Z-95-126 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Essenar Investments and Safeway Company, Inc. have <br />submitted an application for design review approval to <br />allow the demolition of approximately 62,200 square feet <br />of the existing Amador Center, including the existing <br />Safeway food store, the former Sprouse Reitz variety <br />store, and miscellaneous shops area, and to allow the <br />construction of a new Safeway food store and retail shops <br />totaling 70,000 square feet located at 1755 Santa Rita <br />Road; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is C-N (Neighborhood Commercial) <br />District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of August 23, 1995, <br />the Planning Commission, after considering all public <br />testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning this application, approved the <br />negative declaration prepared for Case Z-95-126; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds that the proposed plan is <br />the best possible plan for the site. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves Case Z-95-126, the application of Essenar <br />Investments and Safeway Company, Inc., for design review <br />approval to allow the demolition of approximately 62,200 <br />square feet of the existing Amador Center, including the <br />existing Safeway food store, the former Sprouse Reitz <br />variety store, and miscellaneous shops area, and to allow <br />the construction of a new Safeway food store and retail <br />shops totaling 70,000 square feet located at 1755 Santa <br />Rita Road, subject to the conditions shown on Exhibit <br />"B," attached hereto and made a part of this case by <br />reference. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective 15 days after <br />its passage and adoption unless appealed prior to that <br />time. <br />
