PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. PC-95-58 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF ESSENAR INVESTMENTS AND SAFEWAY COMPANY, INC. FOR DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL, AS FILED UNDER CASE Z-95-126 WHEREAS, Essenar Investments and Safeway Company, Inc. have submitted an application for design review approval to allow the demolition of approximately 62,200 square feet of the existing Amador Center, including the existing Safeway food store, the former Sprouse Reitz variety store, and miscellaneous shops area, and to allow the construction of a new Safeway food store and retail shops totaling 70,000 square feet located at 1755 Santa Rita Road; and WHEREAS, zoning for the property is C-N (Neighborhood Commercial) District; and WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of August 23, 1995, the Planning Commission, after considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the City staff concerning this application, approved the negative declaration prepared for Case Z-95-126; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds that the proposed plan is the best possible plan for the site. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: Section 1. Approves Case Z-95-126, the application of Essenar Investments and Safeway Company, Inc., for design review approval to allow the demolition of approximately 62,200 square feet of the existing Amador Center, including the existing Safeway food store, the former Sprouse Reitz variety store, and miscellaneous shops area, and to allow the construction of a new Safeway food store and retail shops totaling 70,000 square feet located at 1755 Santa Rita Road, subject to the conditions shown on Exhibit "B," attached hereto and made a part of this case by reference. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective 15 days after its passage and adoption unless appealed prior to that time.
