<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-95-09 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO OPERATE A <br />PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL FOR REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS AND RELATED <br />TRADES IN A SUITE OF AN EXISTING BUILDING, AS FILED UNDER CASE <br />UP-95-04 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, John Hall (Anthony Schools of Northern California) has <br />applied for a conditional use permit to operate a <br />professional school for real estate professionals and <br />related trades in a suite of an existing building located <br />at 5960 stoneridge Drive (Hacienda Business park), suite <br />202; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) <br />_ Industrial/commercial/Office District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of February 8, 1995, <br />the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits and recommendations of the city staff <br />concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings: <br /> <br />A. The proposed location of the conditional use is in <br />accordance with the objectives of the zoning <br />ordinance and the purpose of the district in which <br />the site is located. <br /> <br />The site of the proposed use is located in a PUD - <br />I/C-O (Planned Unit Development <br />Industrial/commercial/Office) zoning district which <br />conditionally permits professional schools. One of <br />the purposes of the office zoning district is to <br />provide space for semi-public facilities and <br />institutions, such as a professional school, that <br />may appropriately located in these districts. The <br />operation of a professional school in the Hacienda <br />Business Park would help to provide professional <br />educational facilities for the businesses and <br />workers in the Park. The conditions of approval <br />proposed for this project give the City the <br />appropriate controls to ensure that the use does <br />not have any negative impacts on the surrounding <br />businesses. The use permit for the professional <br />school is, therefore, in accordance with the <br />objectives of the zoning for this district. <br /> <br />. <br />
