MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

Commissioner Hovingh asked to have Joe DeTata remove the golf ball signs which appear
every Saturday morning near the Farmer's Market. He again noted the cut-across traffic on
Santa Rita at Pimlico, asking what can be done to reexamine the approval of the espresso
shop to direct traffic out onto Pimlico. Mr. Iserson will review the conditions of the use
permit. Commissioner Barker suggested putting in barriers to stop the traffic. Another
suggestion was to mark the Shell driveway as an entrance-only driveway. Commissioner
Dove advised that the markings for the Pimlico driveway need to be striped to indicate an
entrance lane, an exiting left turn lane, and an exiting right turn lane. Mr. Iserson will
contact the property owner to restripe the driveway.

Commissioner Barker referred to the recent closure of Donlon school field to BUSC soccer
practice and games due to an unsafe situation. She inquired who had the responsibility for
maintenance. Mr. Beougher advised that the School District is the owner and they told the
soccer organization that they were not allowed on the field.

Planning Commission Minutes

Page 16

October 25, 1995
