He inquired if <br />staff should mention that providing such housing is looked upon favorably by the City. Mr. <br />Swift advised that there is a General Plan policy to have both low and moderate income <br />housing built. The Planning Commission has adopted an informal policy that in any high <br />density housing for sale, moderate income housing would try to be incorporated, and in high <br />density housing for rent, incorporate low income housing into the project. Because St. John <br />Place is a medium density, detached single family residence project, staff did not discuss <br />with the applicant the option of having some units available for the moderate income level. <br /> <br />8. Calendar <br /> <br />Chairman Wright advised that the League of California Cities Planners Institute will have a <br />meeting March 22 - 24. He inquired if any Commissioner wanted to attend, although it <br />would conflict with the second March meeting. He asked everyone to consult their calendars <br />and advise at the next meeting if they would like to attend.
