IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> Ordinance No. 243 <br /> <br /> CREATING A PLANNIN~ COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON AND SETTING OUr ITS <br /> POWERS AND DUTIES. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. CREATION: A planning department for the <br />City of Pleasanton is hereby created, to be known and designated <br />as aThe Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton". <br /> <br /> Section 2. MEMBERSHIP: The Planning Commission shall <br />consist of seven (7) commissioners having one (1) vote each. <br /> <br /> Section 3, COMMISSIONERS: 0ommissioners shall be <br />appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval by veto of the <br />legislative body; and shall not qualify for office unless they <br />are residents of the City of Pleasanton, <br /> <br /> Section 4. TERMS: Commissioners shall serve for a <br />term of three (3) years; provided, however, the first two (2) <br />commissioners appointed shall serve terms of one (1) year each, <br />the third and fourth commissioners appointed shall serve terms <br />of two (2) years each, and the remaining three (3) commissioners <br /> <br />s. ppointed shall serve for terms of three (3) years each, When <br /> <br />vacancies occur, appointments shall be made to fill the <br />unexpired term, <br /> Section 5e EX 0FFI010 MEMBERS2 Ex officio and <br /> <br />~dvisory members without a vote shall include the City Attorney <br />as Secretary to the Planning Commission, and the City Engineer <br />as Engineering Advisor, and such other perso ns or officials as <br />the Council may appoint by resolutions <br /> <br /> <br />
