ORDINANCE NO. 232 <br /> <br /> A jELINQUENCY PREVenTiON ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PRES~iNCE OF MINORS UNDer <br />· THE AGE OF EIGHTEF~' YEARS IN PUBLIC STREETS AND OTHER PLACES BETWEEN CErTAiN <br />HOURS: DEFININ~ THE DUTI~ OF PARENTS AND OTHERS iN ~ARE OF MINORS, aND <br />PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THF~LEOF. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAiNED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF PLEASANTON: <br /> <br /> Section 1) Every person under the age of eighteen years who loiters <br /> <br /> in or about any public street or other public place or any place open to <br /> the public in the Town of Pleasanton, between the hour of 10 o' clock p. m. <br /> and the time of Bunrise of the following day when not accompanied by his <br /> parent, guardian or other adult person having~ 'bhe legal care, custody or <br /> control of such person, or spouse of such person over twenty-one years of <br /> age, is guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> Section 2) E~ery parent, guardian, or other person having the legal <br /> care, custody or control of any person under the age of eighteen years <br /> who permits such person to violate any provision of this ordinance is guilty <br /> of a misd~neanor. <br /> <br /> Section 3) A violation of this ordinance ~or of any provision thereof <br /> is punishable by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars (~500.00) or <br /> by imprisonment not exceeding six months or by both such fine and imprison- <br /> ment. <br /> <br /> Section 4) If any provision of this ordinance, or the application <br /> thereof to any person or circumstance is held to be invalid, the remainder <br /> of this ordinance and the application of such provisions to other persons <br /> and circumstances shall not be affected thereby. <br /> <br /> Section 5) All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with <br /> this Ordinance are hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> Introduced this 2?th day of May, 1954, at a regular adjourned meeting <br /> of the City Council of the Town of Pleasanton by Councilman Hansen and read <br /> for the first time. <br /> <br /> Adopted at a regular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the Town <br /> <br /> -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
