0RDI NANCE N0.._220___ <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ~MENDIN~ SECTION 1 OF <br /> 0RDIN~NOE N0. 207 (SALES TAX) <br /> SECTIONS 2 and 17 OF ORDINANCE N0. <br /> ZlZ ( USE T~X). <br /> <br />The Council of the Town of Pleasanton ordains as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: <br /> <br /> Section 1 of Ordinance No, 207 (Sales Tax) of the Town <br /> <br />of Pleasanton is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 1. I~0SITION AND RATE OF TAX. For the <br /> privilege of selling tangible personal property at <br /> retail a tax is hereby imposed upon all retailers <br /> at the rate of 1~ of the gross receipts of any <br /> retailer from the sale of all tangible personal <br /> property sold at retail in the Town of Pleasanton <br /> on or after October 1, 1952. The license tax imposed <br /> by the provisions of this ordinance is in addition <br /> to any and all other taxes imposed by any other <br /> ordinance of the Town of Pleasanton." <br /> <br />SECTION 2: <br /> <br /> Section 2 and Section 17 of Ordinance No. 212 (Use Tax) <br /> <br />of the Town of Pleasanton are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 2. IMPOSITION ~ND R~TE OF T~X. An excise <br /> tax is hereby imposed on the use or other consumption <br /> in the Town of Pleasanton of tangible personal <br /> property purchased from any retailer on or after <br /> October 1, 1952 for use or other consumption in <br /> said town at the rate of one (1) percent of the <br /> sales price of the property." <br /> <br /> "Section 17. SOHEDULES FOR P~Y}[gNT OF TAX. The Council <br /> by resolution, shall adopt rules prescribing methods <br /> and schedules for the collection and payment of the <br /> tax. Such schedules shall be so determined as to <br /> facilitate collection of this tax at the same time <br /> that the retailer collects the tax imposed under the <br /> California Sales and Use Tax Law and so as to produce <br /> an average tax return of one per cent (1~) on all <br /> purchases subject to the use tax,M <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
