SECTION 2~. PENAL PROVISIONS. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the Town of Pleasanton or the County Jail of the County of Alameda for a period of not more than six (6) months or by both such fine and such imprisonment. SECTION 25. VALIDITY. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance, .The Council of this Town hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance 8.nd each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases or portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 26. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance, inasmuch as it provides for a tax levy for the usual current expenses of the Town, shall, under the provisions of Section 1 of Article IV of the Constitution, take effect immediately, provided, however, the orovisions of Section 2 shall become operative October I, 1951, SECTION 27. This ordinance shall be published once in ."The Pleasanton Times M, a newspaper of general circulation published in the Town of Pleasanton, which newspaper is hereby designated for that purpose.
