.

.

.

PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED

Commissioner Wright stated he has no problem with the parking as it was presented. The
Commission has given other businesses up to two years of temporary parking. He is not opposed
to the use of the valet service and the rear parking lot, and he does not feel the Commission needs
to address the parking situation at this time. Commissioner Wright does not agree to the 180 day
time period for the tent.

Commissioner Cooper would agree to the application if there were a condition setting minimum
standards for the parking lot to be made permanent by this time next year; then the tent could be
considered a permanent structure. Commissioner Wright was not in favor of insisting the applicants
make the parking lot permanent within the year.

Commissioner McGuirk commented that this is the second request for approval of the tent, and he
feels that by next year the applicant should be making the parking lot permanent. Commissioner
Lutz advised that he would be hesitant to approve this application next year without some plans to
make the parking lot permanent.

Commissioner Wright does not feel the short time the cars are parked in the lot create ecological
problems.

After considerable discussion, staff advised the Commission that they could not condition this
application with regard to a permanent parking lot for next year because this approval would be in
effect for only three months. However, the Commission could make a comment regarding it's
position on parking in the minutes.

It was agreed that Commission will approve the application as recommended by staff with the
added consideration that next year's application will review the parking situation more closely,
and that the Commission expected some on-site parking to be in place at that time.

Commissioner Lutz motioned, seconded by Commissioner McGuirk, recommending approval
of Case Z-96-229, subject to the conditions listed in Exhibit B.

ROLL CALL VOTE

AYES:
NOES:
ABSENT:
ABSTAIN:

Commissioners Cooper, Lutz, McGuirk, Wright and Chair Barker
None
None
None

Resolution No. PC 96-88 was entered approving Case Z-96-229, as motioned.

.IL.
