purchase existing housing. The definition of an affordable housing project is now considered to be 100% of the median income. Mr. Iserson noted a project must have a low income component before the City Council will consider waiving fees, and that any recommendation of the Affordable Housing Commission must be approved by the City Council. Commissioner Lutz believes it would be prudent of the Affordable Housing Commission to get input from other Commissions before making a recommendation. . Chair Barker noted that the California Chapter of the American Planning Association conference will be held in Palm Springs Soon. Mr. Iserson is not aware of anyone planning to attend the conference. Chair Barker attended last year and thought it was very beneficial. 10. REFERRALS There were none. 11. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S INFORMATION Discussion regarding the possible rescheduling of the November 27 meeting to November 20 Mr. Iserson discussed rescheduling the November meetings to the first and third WedneSdays in November (6th and 20th). November 20th is the regular meeting of LA VWMA, however, they may accommodate the Commission by changing their meeting location. . December's regular meetings would be the 11th and 25th. The usual practice is to cancel the second meeting for the holidays. Mr. Iserson also noted there is a reception for those who were involved in the General Plan scheduled for October 23rd, which conflicts with the Planning Commission meeting. Staff suggested starting the Planning Commission meeting at 7:30 pm to accommodate those who wish to attend the General Plan reception. Staff was directed by the Commission to contact the General Manager of LA VWMA regarding changing their meeting location. Chair Barker advised that the Mayor's Dinner is scheduled for October 28th. 12. ADJOllRNMENT The Planning Commission meeting was adjourned at 9: 10 p.m. by Chair Barker.
