ORDInAnCE r O. 2 <br /> <br /> AN O~INANCE AMENDING SUBDIVISION 25 OF <br /> SECTI N 10 OF ORDINANCE 113 OF THE TOWN <br /> OF P ASANTON. <br /> <br /> The Council of the Town of Pleasanton do ordain as fol- <br />lows: <br /> <br /> SECTION l: Subdivision 25 of Section lO of Ordinance No. <br /> <br />ll3 of the Town of Pleasanton is hereby amended to read as follows, <br /> <br />towit: <br /> <br /> "Subdivis n 2~.: Every person, firm or corporation defined <br /> io <br /> as a peddler under this ordinance and peddling any article or <br /> commodity in the Town of Pleasanton shall procure a license and <br /> pay a license tax in the sum of $100.00 per annum. <br /> "For the purpose of this ordinance, the term peddler is <br /> defined as follows: <br /> "The term "peddler" shall include every person who sells, or <br /> offers for sale, goods, merchandise, commodities or wares on <br /> any street, lane, alley, sidewalk or public square or any <br /> thoroughfare in the Town of Pleasanton, or who carries goods, <br /> wares, commodities or merchandise from place to place in either <br /> a pack, vehicle, basket or other conveyance, or in any manner <br /> whatever, and offers to or does sell, barter or exchange any of <br /> the said goods, wares, commodities or merchandise in said Town <br /> of Pleasanton; provided that persons furnishing to retail dealers <br /> haying an established and conducting a regular place of business <br /> in the Town of Pleasanton, to become a part of the stock in trade <br /> of such retail dealer, at such place of business, shall not be <br /> deemed a peddler within the meaning of this ordinance; also no <br /> person who carries religious publications, newspapers or periodicals <br /> from place to place and offers to or does sell, barter or ex- <br /> change the same shall be deemed a peddler; no person who offers <br /> for sale, sells, barters or exchanges eggs, poultry fruit or <br /> vegetables, provided, however, such eggs, poultry, ~ruit or vegetables <br /> are the products of premises occupied by them within six miles of <br /> the Town of Pleasanton shall be deemed a peddler under this <br /> ordinance." <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: This ordinance shall take effect and be in <br /> <br />force thirty (30) days from and after its final passage, in accord- <br /> <br />ance with law. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: This ordinance shall be published once in <br /> <br />"The Pleasanton Times," a newspaper of general circulation published <br /> <br /> <br />
