Valley/Bernal Avenue /ntersection, terminating at the PG&E electrical substation, for a total length of approximately 1,400 linear feet. Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: BACKGROUND On August 5, 2003 the City Council awarded a contract to the lowest bidder, Top Grade Construction, for the construction of street widening improvements to Stanley Boulevard in the vicinity of the Valley/Bernal Avenue intersection. The project, as described below, has since been completed and is ready for acceptance. The project consisted of the widening of the south side of Stanley Boulevard by 18 feet with installation of sidewalks, landscaping improvements, and traffic signal modifications. The improvements will provide two left-turn pocket lanes, two through lanes and one shared through/right lane on Stanley Boulevard, eastbound. In addition, the widening will accommodate a triple left movement from Valley Avenue onto Stanley Boulevard, eastbound. BUDGET The f'mal project budget summary is presented as follows: Original Construction Contract $688,934 Net Construction Change Orders (23) $93,893 Engineering Consultant $95,495 Preliminary and Construction Surveying Services $36,205 Geotechnical Services $17,660 PG&E pole relocation, electrical service $67,013 Traffic Control Cabinet $15,088 Traffic Cameras $22,480 Traffic Signal Maintenance $10,882 Fencing Company, Trumer Corp, Martinez Concrete $7,250 Miscellaneous Expenses (reproduction) $1,500 TOTAL $1,056,400 Approved Funding $1,054,793 Project Fund Deficit $1,607 The subject project had an authorized construction contingency amount of $137,786, 20% of the construction contract.
