Staff Report <br /> <br /> February 1, 2005 <br /> Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT AMENDMENT NO. 1 WITH LTD <br /> ENGINEERING INC., FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN <br /> MODIFICATIONS FOR THE BERNAL PROPERTY CHANNEL <br /> RESTORATION PROJECT <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br /> meeting of February 1, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Approve Amendment No. 1 with LTD Engineering Inc., in the not- <br /> to-exceed amount of $72,000. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the at~ached subject <br /> amendment. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: On July 15, 2003 the City Council authorized a contract with LTD <br /> Engineering Inc. for the preparation of design improvement plans to <br /> restore Bernal Property drainage channels to a more natural condition. <br /> Amendment No. 1 provides for the incorporation of design changes, <br /> which have been necessary due to revised assumptions as to storm <br /> water flows in Sycamore Creek and Mission Creek and adjustments <br /> necessary to accommodate the future sports field designs as currently <br /> being prepared by Michael Fotheringham Inc. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On July 15, 2003 the City Council awarded a design contract to the LTD Engineering Inc. <br />design team in the amount of $100,000.
