'fhe public interest, safety, welfare and convenience requires the establishment of a numbering system of street and road addresses in a uniform plan for the City of Pleasanton, said plan shall be in agreement with the ~klameda County Property Numbering System adopted by Ordinance ~1Io.422 N.S. o the County of Alameda on the llth day of july, 19~7, and being Chapter 4 of Title 5 of the Al~neda County Ordinance Code. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Pleasanton, hereby establishes ~ numbering system of street and road addresses for this city in accordance with the Alameda County Property Numbering System which shall be kno~.m as the Pleasanton Portion of the Al~,aeda County Property Ntu~bering System which shall be effective within the City of Pleasanton. Section 3. The Pleasanton Portion of the Alameda County Property Nmnber- ing System shall consist of base lines, lying either within or without the limits of this city, from which property numbers shall be established, said property numbers to progress in an increasing magnitude in easterly, and north- erly and southerly direction/s generally in accordance ~ith the distance from t~e base lines. Section 4. The Pleasanton Portion of the Alameda County Property Numberin System shall consist of a map or maps of said city or portions thereof adopted under ~ection ]Io. ]0 of this Ordinance, u-oon which maps said base lines may be shown or designated and by index lines indicate 'the principal locations at which major units of the n~mbering system shall commence, and such other maps shall be prepared and maintained as shall be necessary to designate the numbers and locations of numbers assigned to particular buildings and lands under said System. All maps constituting any portion of the Pleasanton Portion of the Alameda County Property N~abering System shall have a legend endorsed thereon s
