The following two tables summarize how morning peak hour driving time increases, while driving distances decrease for local drivers when the widening is removed from the roadway network. The tables breakdown local driver trip purposes into four categories: Home / Work = Pleasanton commuter trips from home to work, or work to home Home / School = Local trips from home to school, or school to home Home / Shop / Social / Recreation -- All other trips to or from home by local residents Not to / from Home = Trips that do not originate or end at the resident's home Cut-through traffic is listed separately by roadway type used and is not included in the trip purpose totals.
