<br /> Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trails <br />Committee <br />Agenda Report <br /> January 26, 2026 <br /> <br /> Item 4 <br /> <br /> <br />SUBJECT: STATUS UPDATE ON THE BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN MASTER PLAN <br />UPDATE PROJECT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br />Hexagon will present an update on the current status of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan <br />update and outline the key milestones achieved to date. The presentation will include: <br />1. Phase 1 Community Outreach Summary <br />2. Draft Visons and Goals <br />3. Existing Conditions Analysis <br /> <br />Additionally, Hexagon will outline the next steps in the Master Plan update process. These steps <br />will involve utilizing findings from the trip potential analysis, previous plans, and input from staff, <br />BPTC and the community to develop a draft focus network. Hexagon will then perform a <br />comprehensive needs assessment to identify safety concerns, gaps, and stress factors, as well <br />as establish network prioritization criteria, a treatment toolkit, and a pedestrian Level of Traffic <br />Stress (LTS) methodology. These components will be shared for public feedback during Phase <br />2 outreach, which will include pop-up events, a community meeting, and an online survey. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trails Committee review and evaluate this <br />information, and provide the consultant and staff with any appropriate feedback or <br />recommendations. <br /> <br />ACTION <br />No action required – informational item only. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Submitted by: <br /> Matthew Nelson <br />Associate Traffic Engineer <br /> <br /> <br />
