<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-96-58 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF CASE RZ-96-03, THE <br />APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO AMEND THE PLEASANTON <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO CREATE PROVISIONS TO ALLOW OUTDOOR DISPLAY <br />AND/OR SALE OF MERCHANDISE AS PART OF A SPECIAL EVENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasant on has applied to amend Chapter 18.116 of the Pleasanton <br />Municipal Code (Temporary Uses) to create provisions to allow outdoor display <br />and/or sale of merchandise as part of a special event for a hotel or office building; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of August 14, 1996, the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the requirements of the <br />California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed changes will provide <br />opportunities for hotels to attract conventions without creating adverse impacts on <br />the Pleasanton merchants and will adequately ensure that the health, safety, and <br />general welfare of the City as a whole will be maintained. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Secti on I. <br /> <br />Section 2 <br /> <br />Recommends approval of Case RZ-96-03, the application of the City of <br />Pleasanton to amend Chapter 18.116 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br />(Temporary Uses) to create provisions to allow outdoor display and/or sale of <br />merchandise as part of a special event for a hotel or office building, as shown on <br />Exhibit "A," attached hereto and made part of this case by reference. <br /> <br />This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON ON THE 14TH DAY OF AUGUST 1996 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Barker, Cooper, Dove, Wright, and Chairman Lutz <br />None <br />Commissioner McGuirk <br />None <br />
