Hana Japan Restaurant Project Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration 14 May 2025 Design Review The proposed project would be subject to Design Review by the City of Pleasanton. Section 18.20.010 of the City’s Municipal Code specifies that the purpose of Design Review is to “preserve and enhance the city's aesthetic values and to ensure the preservation of the public health, safety, and general welfare.” The Design Review process is applicable to development projects that include the construction of new structures, and thus, would apply to the proposed project. Discretionary Actions The proposed project would require the following approvals from the City of Pleasanton: • Adoption of the IS/MND; • Adoption of a Mitigation Monitoring/Reporting Program; and • Design Review. G. ENVIRONMENTAL CHECKLIST The following checklist contains the environmental checklist form presented in Appendix G of the CEQA Guidelines. The checklist form is used to describe the impacts of the proposed project. A discussion follows each environmental issue identified in the checklist. For this checklist, the following designations are used: Potentially Significant Impact: An impact that could be significant, and for which no mitigation has been identified. If any potentially significant impacts are identified, an EIR must be prepared. Less Than Significant with Mitigation Incorporated: An impact that requires mitigation to reduce the impact to a less-than-significant level. Less-Than-Significant Impact: Any impact that would not be considered significant under CEQA relative to existing standards. No Impact: The project would not have any impact.
