Agency/Individual Responsible for Implementation: City of Pleasanton to adopt and enforce specified policy and programs; developers of individual projects to carry out specified studies and use specified construction designs. Implementation Timing: Design of individual projects and structures. Mitigation Specifications: Adopt and implement the following policies and programs: Policy 2: Investigate the potentiaJ for seismic hazards during the devel- opment review process, and implement soil engineering and construction standards which minimize potential danger from earthquakes. Program 2.1 Require site-specific soils, geologic, and/or geotechnical engineering studies prior to development approval of struc- tures for hwnan occupancy for any project proposed within areas shown on current Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zones Maps. Also, require such studies for any project pro- posed within areas identified with "Moderately High" to "Extreme" seismic shaking amplification (General Plan Table V-3 and Figure V-4). Program 2.2 Design and construct all structures to address potentiaJ seis- mic and geologic hazard conditions according to the State Uniform Building Code standards or more stringent stan- dards. All structures and facilities not addressed by the UBC shall be designed and constructed to mitigate potential seis- mic and geologic hazards as recommended by site-specific soils, geologic, and/or geotechnical engineering studies. Program 2.5 Require technical review and analysis of soils, geologic, and geotechnical studies by a qualified consulting engineering geologist reporting to the City of Pleasanton. Incorporate the recommendations of the City's consulting engineer into the project design.
