The General Plan assumed 2,500 and <br />2,000 stalls, respectively, for the stations and identified a need of <br />4,500 stalls at the East DublinIPleasanton station for the period beyond <br />the year 2005. <br /> <br />A parking deficit for BART patrons would have a significant impact on <br />freeway operations. Potential BART patrons who are unable to park at <br />the BART stations or in the nearby vicinity will, in all likelihood, drive <br />to work in their private vehicles. A deficit of 2,000 parking spaces would <br />translate to about 1,200 peak-hour vehicle trips, most of which would be <br />expected to use the 1-580 corridor through Castro Valley as an alternate <br />
