EXHIBIT E - MAINTENANCE AND CONSERVATION PLAN
A.Regular maintenance is not required for the Artwork. Artist confirms exposure to elements
and natural aging are desirable characteristics of the Artwork.
B.Repairs and/or restoration may be performed at the discretion of the Client. Client will make
every effort to contact the Artist if maintenance is required. To the extent practical, Artist shall
be given the opportunity to perform or provide consultation of such repairs and restoration at
a reasonable fee to be negotiated between the parties; provided, however, that if the parties
are unable to agree on such fee, Client shall be free to engage a third party to perform the
repairs and restoration, under the supervision of the Artist.
C.Seasonal inspection is recommended. Every Fall and Spring, the Artwork should be
inspected for weather damage, vandalism, etc. A cleaning schedule of the same frequency
could also be executed, but is not necessary. Never use abrasive cleaning chemicals or
materials on the Stainless Steel, Copper or Bronze surfaces. A soft dry cloth to wipe away
bird droppings for example, would suffice.
D.Copper and Bronze will oxidize over time lastly over 50-100 years or more in typical outdoor
conditions.
E.The Stainless Steel will gently tarnish over it’s 50-100 year lifespan in the Artwork’s climate.
F.Red Wax details may need routine maintenance to retain their luster, but that can be
evaluated and determined at each seasonal inspection. A fresh application of Red Wax No.
6 from Sculpt Nouveau may be applied as necessary. We estimate that life span between
applications to range from 8-10 years depending on weather, UV exposure, public
interaction, etc.
ARTWORK COMMISSIONING AGREEMENT page 15
Docusign Envelope ID: 1E0CB645-5270-47AA-87EB-8D8E57759177Docusign Envelope ID: 04C40C7C-1D5C-40F8-AB54-E2C7D9B79ACC
