<br />suitable to produce the quality of work required shall not be permitted. All tools shall be <br />clean, sharp, and in proper working order, and shall be checked for safety before each job. <br />All trucks, chippers, and other heavy equipment shall be in good operating condition, well- <br />maintained, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. <br />b. Equipment shall be operated in a manner that will minimize noise. Trimmers shall not be <br />operated in one location for extended periods of time. <br />c. It is the contractor's responsibility to provide a storage facility. The City does not provide <br />facilities or storage space for the contractor's use. <br />d. Beginning June 1, 2024, it is unlawful for any person to operate a gasoline-powered leaf <br />blower at any time in the City of Pleasanton as outlined in the Code of City Ordinances, <br />Chapter 9.06 Leaf Blower Restrictions. Contractor shall utilize battery-powered leaf blowers <br />when working in the City. <br /> <br />9. CONTROL, SUPERVISION, AND APPROVAL AUTHORITY <br /> <br />a. Unless otherwise provided by specific provisions, Contractor's operations and activities <br />pursuant to any contract resulting from this RFP shall be under the control and supervision of <br />the Parks Division Manager. <br />b. Supervision, Inspection, and Contract Compliance: Contractor must provide for adequate <br />supervision and inspection of all work performed to ensure that each requirement of these <br />specifications is consistently met. <br />c. The contractor shall furnish a fully qualified supervisor who provides supervision of the crew <br />and shall be readily available to meet with the Parks Division Manager as needed for the <br />purposes of correcting problems, conflicts, and coordinating work schedules. <br />d. The City reserves the right to request the removal of any employee of the Contractor for <br />good cause. <br />e. All of the Contractor’s work will be in City-specified areas only. <br />f. Inspection by the Parks Division Manager shall be made during normal City operating hours, <br />unless otherwise arranged. <br />g. The progress and standard of quality of work to be accomplished shall be to the degree <br />reasonably acceptable to the Parks Division Manager. In the event the Parks Division <br />Manager determines the Contractor's work is unsatisfactory, the Contractor will be required <br />to perform the additional work at no cost to the City. <br />h. The City will periodically inspect the work to ensure it meets the City's standards, and the <br />Parks Division Manager will be available during regularly scheduled hours to discuss and <br />resolve any concerns of the Contractor. <br />i. A complete and up-to-date record of all completed weed abatement work shall be submitted <br />bi-monthly (twice a month) to the Parks Division Manager. Work records will include, but <br />not be limited to, the type of work performed, date, area/map book page, and any other <br />information required by the City Parks Division Manager for City weed abatement records. <br />j. Supervisor: Supervisor will have a minimum of five (5) continuous years as supervisor of <br />complete landscaping service and at least two (2) years performing duties of a foreperson. <br />k. Foreperson: Crew Foreperson shall have four (4) continuous years of on-the-job experience <br />performing landscape maintenance. The Crew Foreperson shall be designated at the start of <br />the Agreement.
