<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-97-38 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF STEPHEN <br />CHAMBERLIN ASSOCIATES/FEDERAL EXPRESS FOR PUD DEVELOPMENT PLAN <br />APPROVAL, AS FILED UNDER CASE PUD-97-02 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Stephen Chamberlin AssociateslFederal Express have applied for Planned Unit <br />Development development plan approval to construct a one-story, approximately <br />90,163 square foot, warehouse/office building and an approximately 3,449 square <br />foot vehicle maintenance building to be utilized for Federal Express' mail sorting <br />and distribution operations on an approximately 5.58 acre parcel generally located <br />at the northeast corner of 1-680 and Stoneridge Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - G&LI (General and <br />Light Industrial) District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of April 23, 1997, the Planning Commission, <br />after considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of <br />the City staff concerning this application, recommended approval of the proposed <br />negative declaration for Case PUD-97-02; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings: <br /> <br />1. The plan is in the best interests of the public health, safety, and general <br />welfare. <br /> <br />The proposed maintenance facility would use oil, brake fluid, solvents, <br />coolant, etc. in its operations. FedEx has been conditioned to submit a <br />Hazardous Materials Management Plan (HMMP) pursuant to the City's <br />Hazardous Material Ordinance describing all regulated materials, the <br />maximum amount of the material on-site at anyone time, and the <br />applicable fire-hazard classification. Based on this information, the <br />HMMP will identifY the required measures for use, storage, and treatment <br />of waste materials, and to control the disposal of hazardous materials. <br />
