addresses the long-range plan and the sequencing of improvements that will be required to
achieve the most practical traffic relief in the "triangle". The report will summarize the various
project scopes, schedule and costs, funding availability, recommended project sequencing and
implementation strategy that will provide the improvements that are most cost effective and
consistent with the transportations needs in the area. The study is funded in the amount of
$400,000 and is expected to take approximately six months.

The Study is supported by two committees, a technical committee made up of staff
representatives from the three cities (Pleasanton, Livermore, and Dublin) and CMA, and a policy
oversight committee composed of the Mayor and one Councilmember from each of the three
cities plus the two county supervisors representing the Livermore Valley. Staff recommends the
City Council appoint a Councilmember representative (in addition to the Mayor) to the Tri-
Valley Highway planning study policy oversight committee.

FISCAL IMPACT

None

Respectfully Submitted,

Rob Wilson
Director of Public Works

Nelson Fialho
City Manager

SR 05:015
