Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trails Committee Minutes Page 2 of 3 January 27, 2025 <br /> Chair Piekarski opened public comment. <br /> <br />The following individuals provided comments: Members of the committee. <br /> <br />Chair Piekarski closed public comment. <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER REPORTS <br /> <br />5. Committee member Jain provided updates on the Planning Commission Actions. <br /> <br />6. Committee member Hall provided updates for the Parks and Recreation Actions. <br /> <br />7. Committee member Bowman provided updates for the Energy and Environment <br />Commission. <br /> <br />8. Sargeant Ayers provided an update from the police department’s traffic unit. <br /> <br /> <br />COMMITTEE COMMENTS <br /> <br />9. Chair Piekarski shared information from the events and conferences that she attended. <br /> <br />10. Committee member Maciel commented on the progress of Johnson Drive. <br /> <br />11. Vice-Chair Stewart and Chair Piekarski inquired about the Arroyo Mocho Trail updates. <br /> <br />12. Committee member Jain inquired about fire safety in city parks, trails and fields. <br /> <br />13. Chair Piekarski inquired about the funding for Bike Ped projects given the current budget <br />deficit. <br /> <br />14. Chair Piekarski brought up the Daylighting Law and inquired about curb marking. <br /> <br />15. Chair Piekarski asked about the funds available for trail expansions. <br /> <br />STAFF COMMENTS – PROJECT UPDATES <br /> <br />16. Staff member Matt Gruber addressed Vice-Chair Stewart and Chair Piekarski’s inquiry <br />regarding the Arroyo Mocho Trial updates. <br /> <br />17. Staff member Matt Gruber addressed committee member Jain’s concerns with the fire <br />safety in the city’s parks, trails and fields. <br /> <br />18. Staff member Matt Nelson addressed Chair Piekarski’s inquiry regarding the impact of <br />funding for Bike Ped projects with the current budget deficit. <br /> <br />19. Staff members Matt Nelson and Sargeant Ayers addressed Chair Piekarski’s inquiry <br />regarding curb marking. <br />
