On February 7, 2023, the City Council directed staff to cease working on the <br />master plan and proceed with a project that can be delivered for the available budget – <br />approximately $1.9 million. The revised Lions Wayside and Delucchi Parks renovation project <br />reflects the community’s prioritization and the importance of the bandstand and mature trees <br />and focuses the available budget on the priority items. <br /> <br />Project Status: Construction is underway and anticipated to be complete in late June or early <br />July. <br />• On July 17, 2024, the bid opening for the project occurred. Seven bids were received <br />with the low bid at $1.265 million, which was approximately nineteen percent lower than <br />the Engineer’s Estimate of $1.56 million. <br />• On September 3, the City Council awarded the construction contract to the lowest <br />bidder, Integra Construction. <br />• On October 1, construction began on Lions Wayside Park. <br />• On November 12, the city approved a change order to replace a large section of <br />sidewalk on Neal Street near the bus stop. <br />• On December 3, the City Council approved an additional $250,600 in construction <br />contingency so that the bid alternates could be completed, which consisted of adding <br />more lawn for concert viewing at the Firehouse Arts Center; a pathway, furnishings, <br />and Landscape improvements at Delucchi Park; a pathway to connect to the Firehouse <br />Arts Center parking lot; and associated stormwater improvement requirements. <br />• On January 28, 2025, the city approved a change order for the negotiated bid alternate <br />pricing to complete improvements at Delucchi Park. <br />• On February 18, the city approved a change order for the installation of electrical <br />improvements to accommodate holiday lighting and other special events to be held in <br />the park. <br />Page 43 of 48
