2-7
2
community PARK
Central Promenade Landscaping
As the main pedestrian arterial, the Central
Promenade would be lined with open and upright-
shaped trees of significant height in order to create
a colonnade experience, and to clearly mark a
significant pedestrian circulation route.
Meandering Loop Trail
In an effort to provide interest and varied experiences, the
Meandering Loop Trail would move park users through a
series of spaces along a nearly uninterrupted paved path. This
would provide the opportunity to enjoy the park in a dynamic
way – experiencing varying views - and to take advantage of
the significant length of the pathways. Visitors could also use
the park for an exercise loop.
Meandering Loop Trail Landscaping
As the intent of the trail is to create a variety of
experiences, the park user would encounter a variety
of plant material and tree canopies. The changes in
landscape palettes would help to define the variety
of spaces throughout the park, and help delineate
major and minor pedestrian arterials. The landscape
palette would provide shade and aesthetic appeal,
while also keeping with an open and airy feeling for
the safety of park users.
