San José Ordinance No. 31095 <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Planning Commission discuss the draft amendments to the <br />Pleasanton Municipal Code (PMC), discuss the topic of separate conveyance of accessory <br />dwelling units, and adopt a resolution recommending approval of Case P25 -0026 to the City <br />Council with the proposed amendments shown in Exhibit A. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />In September 2024 Governor Newsom signed Senate Bill 1211 (SB 1211) and Assembly Bill <br />2533 (AB 2533), amending existing State law with respect to accessory dwelling units (ADUs) <br />and junior accessory dwelling units (JADUs). The laws took effect January 1, 2025. <br />Accordingly, the City is initiating amendments to the PMC to comply with the recent legislation <br />and other minor amendments to be consistent with State law. Additionally, staff seeks <br />additional input from the Planning Commission on separate conveyance of ADUs as identified <br />in Assembly Bill 1033 (AB 1033). <br />
