34 | CITY OF PLEASANTON URBAN FOREST MASTER PLAN <br />STATUS OF THE URBAN FOREST <br />Annual Tree Service Data <br />Average annual service data from the past 5 years relating to tree maintenance and assessment are depicted in Table 1-8. <br />Pleasanton currently plants around 151 trees each year and removes 226 trees per year resulting in an average net loss of 75 trees <br />per year. <br />Table 1-8. Average Annual Tree Service Data <br />Tree Planting Establishment Care Tree Pruning Tree Removal Urban Wood Reuse <br />An average of 150 <br />trees are planted <br />annually. <br />Around 250 trees are <br />watered annually. <br />The City currently <br />operates a 5-year pruning <br />cycle, with approximately <br />3,455 trees pruned per <br />year. <br />Approximately <br />225 trees are <br />removed per year. <br />The City uses some of the mulch <br />generated from tree work as <br />landscaping material for city parks <br />and medians but does not distribute <br />mulch to residents.
