RESOLUTION NO. 2024-073 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO <br /> APPROVE AN APPLICATION FOR THE CALIFORNIA SENATE DISTRICT 7 <br /> ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT ACCELERATOR GRANT FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT <br /> OF $192,043.18, AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE AWARD <br /> AND MAKE APPROPRIATE BUDGET AMENDMENTS IN THE MISCELLANEOUS <br /> OPERATING GRANTS FUND <br /> WHEREAS, Section 19.564 of the Budget Act of 2023 provides funds to be allocated to <br /> select cities in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties to encourage the production of accessory <br /> dwelling units (ADUs) to help address California's housing crisis; <br /> WHEREAS, a new ADU Accelerator program, piloted by Senator Glazer, will be <br /> composed of 15 cities in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area located in Senate District 7, <br /> WHEREAS, this grant includes an Incentive Program providing individual rebates to <br /> property owners to construct an ADU and also includes a Permit Ready ADU Prototype Plan <br /> providing cities funding toward preparing permit-ready ADU Plans intended to streamline the <br /> development process and facilitate additional ADU development in the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, as authorized through the California Budget Act of 2023 and the California <br /> Department of Housing and Community Development, the Town of Danville will act as the fiscal <br /> agent to receive fund applications and distribute Program funds. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The City of Pleasanton declares it is eligible to request an allocation of <br /> ADU Accelerator funds from the Town of Danville, the fiscal agent of the California Department <br /> of Housing and Community Development. <br /> SECTION 2. The City of Pleasanton attests to the accuracy of and approves the <br /> statement in Exhibit A to this resolution. <br /> SECTION 3. A certified copy of this resolution and its attachments. and any <br /> accompanying supporting materials shall be forwarded for submission to the Town of Danville as <br /> part of the ADU Accelerator fund application and fund distribution. <br /> SECTION 4. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, is authorized to submit <br /> an application and to execute all other documents necessary and appropriate to apply for and <br /> obtain the ADU Accelerator grant. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of Pleasanton at a regular <br /> meeting held on December 3, 2024. <br /> I, Jocelyn Kwong, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the <br /> foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 3 rd day of <br /> December 2024, by the following vote: <br /> {Signatures to follow on next page.} <br />
