One application was received by Brian Wilson for the <br />Commercial Real Estate position on the Economic Vitality Committee. The application was <br />screened for eligibility, and reviewed by the Mayor. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Ratify Economic Vitality Committee Appointment. <br />• Brian Wilson: November 19, 2024 - September 30, 2028 <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />In accordance with commission/committee appointment policies, the City solicits applications <br />from interested Pleasanton residents and those who work in Pleasanton to serve on the City's <br />standing commissions and committees. Generally, recruitment is conducted in the spring and <br />fall of each year, unless there is an unscheduled vacancy. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br />After the fall commission and committee recruitment was completed, there were several vacant <br />positions remaining, one of which was the Commercial Real Estate position on the Economic <br />Vitality Committee. The recruitment for this position remained open as an unfilled vacancy. On <br />October 4, 2024, the City received one application from Brian Wilson for the vacant <br />Commercial Real Estate position. The applicant was a former member of the Economic Vitality <br />Committee, and in good standing. The applicant was qualified on the basis of their application <br />which was reviewed by the Mayor. <br /> <br />EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY <br />The City encourages all eligible and interested community members to participate in <br />committees and commissions, with the intent of including diverse voices from throughout the <br />Pleasanton community. The recruitment process is structured to optimize opportunities for <br />participation. <br /> <br />OUTREACH <br />Recruitment was open for 30 days in accordance with City policy. Staff liaisons to commissions <br />notified members who may have been impacted by the spring commission and committee <br />restructure of their need to reapply during the fall recruitment cycle if they were eligible and <br />interested in continuing to serve on their respective boards.
