<br /> <br />2-31 <br />Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Master Plan <br />Section Two – Recreation Facility Needs Assessment 2014 <br /> <br />It should be noted that this acreage analysis does not include an evaluation of need for natural/passive <br />open space, which is addressed by policy established in other documents. <br /> <br />2.9.5 Trends and Implications Analysis <br /> <br />A complete copy of the trends analysis is found within Appendix ‘C’ of this report. The report reviews <br />current literature and studies on social and recreational trends and discusses the potential impact on <br />the City of Pleasanton. Needs pertaining to recreation facilities include: <br /> <br /> “Intergenerational” facilities that address needs of all of the City’s population regardless of age <br /> Facilities that support programs, and provide positive, safe, and secure recreational alternatives <br /> Facilities that support programs and activities, promote personal connections, and allow the <br />community to highlight and share their diverse backgrounds <br /> Neighborhood parks that allow for increased community connectedness <br /> Facilities, such as neighborhood parks, that conveniently support healthy lifestyles <br /> Facilities that support increased multi‐cultural family arts events <br /> Facilities in which children can experience and appreciate nature and open space <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
